In my Closet : Pandora’s 3 Leaf Necklace

Pandora – a brand of jewelry that’s so whimsical….I have always wanted a bracelet from them with meaningful charms and 2016 seems to be the year for it! I was coveting this piece from the catalog and bought it on a whim!

Gorgeous!

Gorgeous!

The chain is slightly smaller than what I’d like. Its about 20 inches which sits just on my collar bone, unlike the model where it falls further down. I love the slight sheen it has, its so subtle that you wouldn’t notice it otherwise. Its very much like marcasite (or maybe IT IS marcasite) and I just don’t know about it, lol. I just know its made of silver 🙂

Luckily for me the pendant doesn’t catch the light in sunshine but is brilliant at night. Just this one piece can totally transform a simple dress, I have worn it with a black plain dress and a printed tee, both times this chain stood out. The best part is, you don’t even need earrings, the chain is good enough – hair tied up or left loose around your shoulders.

Its teams so well with all the winter layers 🙂

Loving it!!

In my closet : African themed necklace

IMG_3737

Oh! This piece of necklace is serious drool-balls! Does that sound ewww? Maybe! But then it totally is drool worthy! Absolutely! Definitely! Well..okay…you get the picture! I have a this totally hot-shot-older-sister and she’s one of the 3 best older sisters I have! On one of her trips to Mauritius she got this African themed necklace for my younger sister and a black+white combo one (coming up sooooon) for me. My younger sis, the darling that she is, asked me to take it with me when I shifted to Melbourne. Since my arrival, I have worn this a few dozen times. And it has ALWAYS turned heads. ALWAYS.

One of my OOTD below, with the necklace. Not the best picture, but something that’ll give you an idea as to what the complete piece looks like. This is one of those pieces I totally treasure! I have the best sisters in the world!

Mini review : Clinique 3 step & Olay Pro-X

Oops! that doesn't look right, does it?

Oops! that doesn’t look right, does it?

Mini reviews are succinct and best – says em…me? Yeah….”me”. I love reading long posts about how you opened the cover, sniffed the goods, laid it out beautifully blah…blah…blah but the point of the review – experience – gets lost sometimes. And I dont/may not have the patience to go through the 1000-word review. I need quick reviews, because I am 3 people away from billing the item at Priceline or something 😀

So, mini-reviews help!

image (1)

Step 1 : Cleanser – a mild cleanser with a strong smell of alcohol. When I first started to use, it stung a bit. Because I was using good-old besan on my face everyday until then. 15 days later, its fine. But I miss my besan powder 😦

Step 2 : Toner – pretty bottle, no spray or pump. I wish it was a spray bottle. And again, it stung. Smells very like alcohol 😦 But does an amazing job at toning. I can clearly see it on the cotton pad after swiping it on my face.

Step 3 : Moisturiser – THE BEST THING EVVVVERRRR!! Totally! The BEST thing ever. Moisturises and is light. Love the smell too. Buy it, pronto! My HG moisturiser if I can think of sparing $40 bucks next month 😉 But I think I will forget about the cakes n ice cream for 2 weeks and buy this. Totally worth the sacrifice 🙂

Bonus product? Why is that so?

I use this Olay Pro-X thingamajig while cleansing. Since it’s part of the wash-face routine, I thought I’ll review it along with the Clinique kit 😀

  1. Good product
  2. Love the feel on my neck & skin after the face wash
  3. Very economical compared to THE Clarisonic Mia – Olay’s Pro-X is priced at $25 along with a tube of cleanser
  4. Has 2 controls, fast and slow. I usethe fast on the neck area and slow near the delicate areas – under eye especially
  5. The brush head might need to be replaced, it’s starting to scratch my skin a teeny-weeny bit after 3 months of use (ouch!)

In my closet : Swarovski blue earrings

IMG_3721[1]

These are the best wedding gifts ever!! And close to my heart…considering this came from my ex-colleagues at Infosys! You bunch of amazing, hard working people…you know me too well! Thank you! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Swarovski – the best of crystals + Sea-blue – a favourite color + formal & dressy looks = versatile accessory ever!!

A closer look at the beauties!

Steal : White and blue shoes

The pleasure of a steal is intrinsically linked to the satisfaction of watching someone drooollll (ew!) over my sheer genius purchase!

*so selfish*

When I stumble…like totally stumble upon “steals” I go ga-ga, don’t stop talking or obsessing over it until my husband says the 3 magical words – “go, buy it!”. Then I flash him a 1000-watt smile that he fell in love with and flash my card after grabbing buying the said “steal”.

When we went to Target @ Hopper’s Crossing last weekend to buy warm clothing, (winter is here…brrr) I glanced over the shoes section.

So this is Australia, the average shoe size is 8-12 as against my miniature 5 😦 and I was prepared to be disappointed, only lusting after the cute ones here. But what do I see?

Holy toledo! I rub my eyes and see my dream-worthy white-with-tiny-blue-stripes shoes. A bit of background, I am not an advocate of wearing  black shoes with blue jeans, no-no that’s a fashion faux pas in my books.

So what do I do when I find this? Turn the price tag ever so slightly to check the price. I swooooonnnn…it’s $5. I pinch myself, it’s $5 and its a size 5. I grab and run to the till. I have my card ready to paypass. The SA smiles and says $4. I am thinking in my head “is she nuts?” and smile and buy it!  I check the receipt and then realise there’s a 20% reduction on the $5 price. Ahh! Bliss!!!

Then I went back to buying warm clothes 🙂

Am I not worth it?

OOTD – my first!

I have always been fascinated by the confidence of the bloggers with numerous OOTDs. One word that resonates with me when I see OOTD posts – CONFIDENCE. Totally admire them. Delving into details of the post, I have always been in awe of the way bloggers manage to pull an outfit together. The details, the accessories, the colors, the poses, the cameras or the cameraman/men. ooofff!!!

In Melbourne, time is something that I have plenty of. Between little cooking, very little housework *wink* that I do, I find myself thinking of matching my clothes into “outfits”. I’d love for a stranger to complement me on what I was wearing.

I also follow Supria at Sushy loves blush. Her pictures attracted me to the blog, they are so classy. Her OOTDs are so simple, so everyday life-like. Its what I’d normally wear to the movies, someone’s house for dinner or a day trip outside Melbourne.

So…long story short, posting my first OOTD. I’m still in doubt whether to do this or not. But? What’s life without the risks?? Here goes…

The pictures of this OOTD are from my iPhone camera, please excuse me this one time 🙂

Venue – Geelong beach

Outfit details

Printed pants – Marks & Spencer (Bangalore, India)

Plain mint top – Marks & Spencer (Bangalore, India)

Isn’t it fab?

5 facts on the watch

  3. It is priced at $200 AUD (I think)
  4. Available at Myer, David Jones
  5. It’s mine! 🙂
